Frequently Asked Questions
Question
1. What are your markets? What do you want to write?
Answer
At American Country Insurance Company (ACIC) we insure only passenger transportation risks: taxis, limousines, airport transits and paratransit/non-emergency medical vehicles.

Question
2. How quickly can I expect to receive a quote?
Answer
It depends on the risk. Non-fleet risks that adhere to underwriting guidelines can be quoted within 3 - 5 business days. Fleet or other non-traditional risks will take longer. Call your underwriter to discuss.

Question
3. Are Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs) required to receive a quote?
Answer
Yes. To ensure an accurate quote, MVR's should accompany the application.

Question
4. Will you accept vehicles over 10 years old?
Answer
Yes. Vehicles over 10 years old may be acceptable. An auto inspection form is required prior to issuance. Call your underwriter to discuss.

Question
5. What vehicles are not acceptable?
Answer
ACIC is not a market for school buses, church buses, urban buses, antique livery vehicles, ambulances or emergency vehicles.

Question
6. Are stretched Hummers, Navigators, and Escalades acceptable?
Answer
No. These vehicles are not in our appetite. Reinsurance requirements make competitive pricing difficult.

Question
7. Are loss histories available through our web site?
Answer
We are unable to provide this information through our website at this time.
